If you want sharper, more reliable results from your fiber laser, it all starts after the etch. One of the simplest ways to achieve consistent, high-quality prints is by keeping your laser plates clean. A quick cleaning routine can prevent misalignment, blurry marks, or inconsistent depth. Here’s our straightforward method for keeping your plates in top shape:
Step 1: Buff It Out
Use a blue Scotch-Brite pad to gently wipe away any ablated material or burrs from the etched area.

Step 2: Scrub Smart
Mix water and Comet cleaner, then scrub the plate with an acrylic brush to remove any leftover debris.
Step 3: Wipe and Go
Rinse thoroughly or wipe the plate clean. Once it’s dry, you're ready for your next run.
Pro Tip
A clean plate helps maintain alignment, depth, and clarity in your prints. Taking a few extra seconds to clean up now can save you time and rework later.
